  • About Sigma Pi at Michigan State University

Sigma Pi is an international fraternity with over 95,000 brothers currently initiated within 124 chapters in the United States and Canada. Sigma Pi was founded in Vincennes University, Indiana in the year 1897 where its founders sought to create the “next generation of leaders” by instilling values of character, chivalry, and the acceptance of cultures.

The Zeta Mu chapter at Michigan State University was founded on May 18th, 1985 with the goal of becoming the most elite fraternity on campus by abiding by our national values and traditions. Since that time, Sigma Pi has grown to be one of the largest houses at MSU and continues to thrive.

    Philanthropy Event:

Miss Greek (fall), Annual Sigma Pi Volleyball Tournament (spring)

One of the most anticipated events in the Greek community, Miss Greek is Sigma Pi's fall philanthropy which invites the sororities of MSU to compete in a beauty pageant, with members from fraternities across campus in attendance. The proceeds have gone to charities including the American Red Cross and the Lyme Disease Association.

Sigma Pi's Annual Volleyball Tournament is the annual spring philanthropy of Sigma Pi. Usually in mid-April, fraternities and sororities from across campus are invited to compete in a volleyball tournament, with the proceeds going to charities including the Sam Spady Foundation (now inactive) and the Wounded Warriors Project.
